Gunmen have murdered Chris Terfa-Ikpu, the Executive Director of the Concerned Youth Development Initiative, in Makurdi, Benue State. The incident occurred on Friday when Terfa-Ikpu was at his office in the Logo area.
According to reports, the assailants traced Terfa-Ikpu to his office after he had returned to town earlier in the week. The gunmen forced their way into the office after shooting the security guard on duty.
A source indicated that the gunmen inquired about Terfa-Ikpu’s whereabouts upon arrival, and one of his employees directed them to his office.
Stanley Chimin, a close associate of the deceased, told journalists in Makurdi that Terfa-Ikpu had recently returned to the state after being away for some time. The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His body has been taken to the morgue at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital.
Attempts to reach Catherine Anene, the spokesperson for the state police command, for confirmation were unsuccessful as her phone was not answered and text messages were not returned.
