The Rivers State Ethnic Youth Leaders Coalition has urged the Commissioner for Special Projects, Chief Chukwuemeka Woke, to offer an apology to Governor Siminalayi Fubara for purportedly making disparaging remarks against the current administration in the state.
In a statement released in Port Harcourt on Friday, the youth leaders emphasized the importance of loyalty and integrity in governance, asserting that the state’s interests should always supersede personal agendas and political maneuvers.
Signed by the group’s chairman, Dr. Legborsi Yamaabana, the statement highlighted concerns about Commissioner Woke’s conduct, particularly his history of resignations followed by unapologetic returns, which the coalition deemed detrimental to public welfare.
The coalition urged Governor Fubara to address disloyalty within his cabinet decisively, emphasizing the paramount importance of prioritizing the welfare of Rivers State and its citizens over individual ambitions.
Furthermore, the group demanded an immediate retraction and apology from Commissioner Woke to Governor Fubara and the Rivers State government. Failure to comply, they warned, would exacerbate the breach of trust and loyalty to the current administration.
The youth leaders commended former Rivers State Governor Dr. Peter Odili for his steadfast support of Governor Fubara’s administration and the collective aspirations of Rivers people. They called for unity, accountability, and dedication to advancing the state’s prosperity amidst evolving political landscapes.
