The Labour Party has made a slight adjustment to its guidelines for the Edo State governorship primary election. This decision was reached during the party’s National Working Committee meeting held yesterday, which also led to a one-day adjustment of the entire timetable, including dates for various key events.
According to a statement from the national publicity secretary, Mr. Obiora Ifoh, the sale of forms, originally scheduled to end today, has been extended to Monday. Additionally, the date for the governorship primaries, initially set for February 22, has been shifted to February 23.
In the revised guidelines, two delegates will be selected from each of the 192 political wards in the state. The party’s leadership has also increased the number of Local Government delegates from five to seven individuals in all 18 LGAs. These adjustments aim to ensure a smooth and inclusive process for the emergence of the party’s candidate for the upcoming election.
