The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has appointed Abiodun Ayobami as a Youth Ambassador and presented him with the prestigious Nelson Mandela Leadership Award for Excellence and Integrity, a renowned honor recognizing exceptional leadership and contributions to Africa’s development, on July 10.
Announced in an official letter from the West African Youth Council, the appointment recognizes his outstanding contributions and distinguished achievements in the digital marketing and technology sectors.
The regional body described Abiodun as a leading tech talent and a role model for young people across Africa.
Speaking at the event, Williams Seun, Chairman of the ECOWAS Youth Council, stated that the Youth Council created the leadership award to honor youths who have distinguished themselves in various capacities and professions in West Africa. He added that the Council deemed it fitting to award Abiodun the EYC Ambassador Leadership Award for Excellence, based on his representation of young people in the digital marketing and tech sectors.
Abiodun Ayobami was deeply humbled upon receiving the awards, remarking: “These esteemed awards serve as a beacon of inspiration, motivating me to persist in making a meaningful difference in the tech industry and society as a whole.”
Abiodun has over five years of experience in digital marketing, business administration, and business development, with a keen interest in Data Analytics, AI, and Marketing.
