The atmosphere was electric at the University of Lagos Sports Complex as the 2025 Nigeria Bankers Games opened over the weekend with a vibrant display of colour, camaraderie, and competition setting the stage for weeks of friendly rivalry among Nigeria’s top financial institutions.
The annual sporting festival, which brings together professionals from across the banking sector, began with an impressive march-past event that saw First Bank of Nigeria Plc reclaim their title as champions with a near-perfect score of 98.2 per cent. Access Bank and Wema Bank finished in second and third place respectively.
The opening ceremony featured a high-energy aerobics session led by a fitness instructor, reinforcing the event’s core message of work-life balance and wellness among bankers.
