Abuja, Nigeria — The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced Thursday, October 9, 2025, as the date for its main online recruitment examination for shortlisted candidates in the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres.
This was disclosed in a public notice shared by the Service on Tuesday through its verified communication channels.
According to the statement, candidates have been grouped into three batches — A, B, and C — and are required to log in with their National Identification Number (NIN) via the official recruitment portal, https://updates.customs.gov.ng, to verify their batch, examination date, and time.
“The Main Online Recruitment Examination for all shortlisted Inspectorate and Customs Assistant Cadre applicants has been scheduled for Thursday, 9th October 2025,” the notice read.
The NCS emphasized that strict compliance with assigned batches and time slots is mandatory, warning that failure to adhere to these instructions could result in disqualification.
Examination Guidelines
The Service further cautioned candidates against the use of calculators, mobile phones, or any other electronic devices during the test. It also warned applicants to avoid multiple log-ins or switching browser windows, noting that such actions could interfere with their participation.
Clarification on Eligible Applicants
The Customs Service clarified that the ongoing recruitment stage is exclusively for applicants under the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres.
“Only Inspectorate and Customs Assistant Cadre applicants are to take part in this stage of the examination. Applicants of the Superintendent Cadre are not to participate at this stage,” the statement added.
Background
The recruitment process forms part of the Service’s broader effort to enhance operational efficiency and border management capacity across the country.
The NCS reiterated its commitment to ensuring a transparent and merit-based recruitment process, urging applicants to rely only on official channels for information.
