The National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and its 2023 presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on Tuesday met with party stakeholders in Cross River State to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and map out strategies ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Addressing party faithful in Calabar, Kwankwaso stressed the need for unity and collaboration among members to boost the party’s presence in the state and nationally.
“I thank all the leaders and members of NNPP in Cross River State. I want to encourage you to work hard to ensure unity within the party. We must work with one mind if we hope to win both the state and national elections in 2027,” he said.
Kwankwaso also commended the state chapter for its performance in the 2023 elections and urged members to intensify efforts as the next electoral cycle approaches.
“Let me thank you for what you did during the last election in 2023. I urge you to work harder so that, by the grace of God, our party will win elections in Cross River and Nigeria,” he added.
The NNPP leader further hailed the recent expansion of party infrastructure in the state, including the opening of a new secretariat in Calabar and local government offices across several senatorial districts.
State Chairman of the party, Barr. Tony Odey, described Kwankwaso’s visit as a morale booster, saying it would energise members to work towards the party’s growth.
“We have assembled stakeholders from different walks of life to engage in meaningful discussion, share ideas, and chart a new course for our collective progress. Your insight and guidance will undoubtedly enrich our capacity,” Odey said.
He also praised the efforts of the party’s Contact Committee, led by Alhaji Ahmed Bitchi, for securing new offices and providing an official vehicle, which he said had positioned the NNPP competitively against rival political parties in the state.
Odey noted that apart from the state secretariat in Calabar, the party had successfully paid for offices in the five local government areas of the Northern Senatorial Zone, with plans underway to brand them in party colours.
In a vote of thanks, the State Publicity Secretary, Odey Nyambi, reaffirmed the chapter’s commitment to strengthening the NNPP’s political base, assuring stakeholders that the party was poised to clinch victory in Cross River come 2027.
