Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement to sign Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich Town in a deal worth £37 million, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Friday.
The 21-year-old winger is set to undergo a medical after agreeing personal terms with the Premier League side. “Nottingham Forest agree deal to sign Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich Town for £37m fee, here we go! Omari, on his way to medical right now as personal terms are also agreed,” Romano posted.
Hutchinson, who began his youth career at Chelsea before spells at Charlton Athletic and Arsenal, rejoined the Blues in 2022 but struggled for first-team opportunities.
He made his breakthrough on loan at Ipswich during the 2023/24 season, netting 10 goals and providing five assists to help the Tractor Boys secure Premier League promotion. His performances earned him the EFL Championship Player of the Month award in February 2024.
Ipswich signed Hutchinson permanently in 2024 for a club-record fee, but despite his efforts including three league goals they were relegated last season.
Internationally, Hutchinson has represented both Jamaica and England and was part of the England Under-21 squad that lifted the 2025 UEFA European Championship.
Forest, who finished seventh last season to qualify for the Europa League, are expected to make Hutchinson one of their marquee summer signings. Chelsea are also set to profit from the transfer, having included a 25% sell-on clause in their deal with Ipswich.
