Abeokuta, Nigeria — Former Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Senator Gbenga Kaka, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the most prepared leader Nigeria has had to tackle the nation’s pressing challenges, citing his decades of political experience, policy knowledge, and administrative acumen.
Speaking during an interactive session with journalists in Abeokuta, Kaka emphasized that Tinubu’s emergence as President came at a time when the country needed a pragmatic leader capable of stabilizing a fragile economy, addressing insecurity, and restoring public confidence in governance.
“President Tinubu has been consistent in public service for over three decades, from his days in the Senate to his transformative tenure as Lagos State Governor. His foresight and capacity to build strong institutions are unmatched,” Kaka stated.
He also credited Tinubu with laying the foundation for modern governance in Lagos, which many now regard as a model for other Nigerian states. According to Kaka, these credentials made Tinubu uniquely equipped to assume the presidency during a period of national uncertainty.
The former deputy governor acknowledged that the road ahead remains tough, but expressed optimism that with time, Nigerians would begin to see the benefits of the President’s policies, particularly in areas of economic reform and infrastructural development.
“The kind of challenges we face today require more than good intentions — they require tested leadership. Tinubu is not learning on the job. He came prepared,” Kaka asserted.
While the administration has faced criticism over the pace of reforms and their impact on daily living, Kaka urged citizens to remain patient and supportive, noting that systemic change often takes time to yield visible results.
The endorsement by the former deputy governor adds to a growing chorus of voices urging Nigerians to give President Tinubu more time to deliver on his campaign promises amid mounting expectations.
