Ohanaeze Ndigbo is in mourning following the death of its President-General, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, who passed away on Thursday. The news was confirmed by the Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Alex Ogbonnia, in a statement to journalists in Enugu.
“It is a somber day for Ndigbo. It is true—Ahaeji aga Mba is gone,” Ogbonnia said. He added that while an official statement from Ohanaeze Ndigbo is forthcoming, the loss of Chief Iwuanyanwu has deeply affected the organization.
