Peter Obi Laments Nigeria’s Exclusion from Harvard Business School Program
Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, has expressed concern over Nigeria’s declining reputation and attractiveness to international institutions and investors. His remarks followed Nigeria’s exclusion from the Harvard Business School class of 2025 program, which selected sixteen countries, including Kenya, Rwanda, Morocco, and Ghana, for its global immersion course.
Despite the program leader being a Nigerian professor, Nigeria was notably omitted from the list, highlighting what Obi described as a significant oversight given the country’s potential and capabilities.
The Harvard program aims to teach students leadership, teamwork, and cross-cultural understanding through immersion in different continents and cultures. Obi urged Nigeria to address its shortcomings and enhance its reputation on the global stage.
“That is the challenge of the new Nigeria that remains ever possible,” Obi said on Wednesday via his X account.
