Reality TV personality Ka3na Jones, known for her stint on Big Brother Naija, has issued a stark warning to social critic Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), following his recent series of arrests. VDM has faced multiple legal issues primarily related to cyberbullying and defamation.
His most recent arrest occurred in Abuja on Sunday, where he was detained on allegations of defaming an individual accused of scamming a Nigerian living abroad. This marks his third arrest this year alone.
In response to these recurring incidents, Ka3na advised VDM to reconsider his actions on social media, emphasizing the long-term consequences. She highlighted that accumulating a negative record with law enforcement and facing multiple lawsuits can severely hinder future prospects, including opportunities for quality employment or relocation abroad.
“@verydarkblackman my dear, you need to actually know what you are doing on social media. Only a visionless person would repeatedly let himself be registered in the Nigerian police negatively with countless lawsuits,” Ka3na wrote in her cautionary message.
She further pointed out the broader implications of such legal troubles, noting that records of arrests and legal issues are readily accessible online and through police databases, potentially impacting international travel and career prospects.
Ka3na concluded with a plea for caution, urging VDM to reconsider his approach to social media engagement in order to avoid further legal entanglements and safeguard his future opportunities.
The ongoing legal challenges faced by VDM underscore the increasing scrutiny and consequences of online behavior in Nigeria’s digital landscape.
